Located in Ann Arbor, Barton Hills was designed in the 1920’s by Donald Ross, it has hosted a couple of USGA events including the 1990 US Womens Amateur and upcoming 2027 US Senior Womens Amateur. The course measures 7070 from the tips and plays anywhere from 7000 to 5400 yds depending on the tees. The course has a golden age feel to it, the bunkers have recently been redone and they come into play especially around the greens. One thing you notice about Barton is how wide open it feels, there aren’t alot of trees to impede your shots. In the world of technology Barton Creek is ahead of the game, they have robot cutting machines cut all the grass for the fairways, it was interesting to watch them cut the grass and return back to their base when the battery got low. This is one course if you get a chance to play take the opportunity.
